Georgios Tsagdis teaches at Leiden University, the Erasmus University Rotterdam and the Architectural Association. His work operates across theoretical and disciplinary intersections drawing on 20th Century, Contemporary and Ancient Greek Philosophy. His interests span from the physical and metaphysical thematisation of space, time and matter in historic and contemporary philosophical discourses to the ethico-political imperatives of migrancy and the non-human in the Anthropocene. He is currently working on entropy.
Tsagdis’ essays have been published in various book collections and international journals, among which Parallax, Philosophy Today and Studia Phaenomenologica. His editorials include special issues for Azimuth (‘Intersections: at the Technophysics of Space’) and the International Journal of Philosophical Studies (‘Of Times: Arrested, Resigned, Imagined)’. A collective volume on Derrida’s Politics of Friendship, with Edinburgh University Press is forthcoming.
Tsagdis created and convened the Seminar of Neoplatonic Studies at the Warburg Institute in the years 2013-19 and has recently established the cross-border theory network Minor Torus.
